From 11th July 2013 all cosmetics on the European market must comply with the European Cosmetic Regulation, EC 1223/2009. This regulation was published on the 30th of November 2009 in the official journal of the European Commission. It replaces the current Cosmetics Directive 76/768/EEC and it overrules all national regulations. This means greater uniformity within the European market and more safeguards for consumers. The good thing about uniformity is that you only have to prepare once for the entire European market. But you do have to know what to do. It might seem difficult, but we’ll keep it simple.

– You have to assign a Responsible Person. This has to be a person that is based in the EU. This person will be the guardian of your Product Information Files or PIFs.

– You must ensure the safety of your product through the Cosmetic Safety Assessment. For this you will need a specialised organisation or a specialist. Lafirgo has all the qualifications needed to perform your CSA.

– You must get your Product Information Files and labels in order. Lafirgo will assemble your PIFs in close cooperation with the manufacturer. We will check your labels and assist you in getting them right.

Lafirgo can perform all these tasks for you. We specialize in organic cosmetics and can ensure that your PIFs are produced quickly and accurately. If we observe any safety pitfalls we will advise you on how to avoid them. Contact us now to find out more. Or get a quote right away.
